Refund and Return Policy
At Vintage Porcelain Signs Store, we take great pride in the authenticity and quality of the historic advertising we curate. Because we deal in unique, one-of-a-kind vintage items, our return policy is designed to protect the integrity of these collectibles while ensuring our customers are satisfied with their investments.
1. Return Eligibility Window
We offer a 14-day return period from the date of delivery. If 14 days have passed since your order was delivered, we generally cannot offer a refund or exchange. To be eligible for a return, your item must be in the exact same condition that you received it.
2. Grounds for a Return
Due to the nature of antique porcelain signs, returns are typically accepted under the following circumstances:
- Significantly Not as Described: If there is a major discrepancy between the item received and the high-resolution photos or condition report provided at the time of sale.
- Authenticity Concerns: We guarantee the authenticity of every sign we sell. If a recognized third-party expert provides documented evidence that a sign is a reproduction, we will issue a full refund including all shipping costs.
3. Shipping Damage (Crucial)
Porcelain enamel is a glass-based finish and must be handled with care.
- Inspection: You must inspect your sign immediately upon delivery.
- Reporting: If an item arrives damaged due to shipping, you must contact us within 48 hours of receipt.
- Documentation: Please take clear photos of the damaged packaging and the damage to the sign itself. This is required for us to file an insurance claim with the carrier.
4. The Return Process
To initiate a return, please follow these steps:
- Contact Us: Email our support team with your order number and the reason for the return.
- Authorization: Once approved, we will provide you with a Return Merchandise Authorization (RMA) and specific packing instructions.
- Secure Repacking: Items must be returned in their original industrial-grade crating or equivalent secure packaging. If an item is damaged during return shipping due to poor packing, a refund may be denied or reduced.
5. Refund Method & Timing
Once your return is received and inspected to ensure it matches its original “sold” condition:
- We will notify you of the approval or rejection of your refund.
- If approved, your refund will be processed, and a credit will automatically be applied to your original method of payment.
- Please allow 5–10 business days for the transaction to appear on your statement, depending on your financial institution.
6. Return Shipping Costs
- Fault/Damage: If the return is due to our error or shipping damage, we will cover all return shipping costs.
- Preference Returns: For all other returns, the buyer is responsible for paying for their own return shipping and insurance. We strongly recommend using a trackable shipping service and purchasing shipping insurance, as we cannot guarantee that we will receive your returned item.
7. Restocking Fees
To cover the specialized labor involved in inspecting, cleaning, and re-listing high-value collectibles, a 15% restocking fee may be applied to returns made for reasons other than damage or authenticity.
